This device consists of the studded disc, located inside the toothed circle.
In the disk there is a small hole situated a certain distance from its
centre. The tip of the pencil is put into this hole. The disk is then
moved so that it always in contact with the circumference, teeth of which
guarantee no slippage occurs. The pencil plots the cycloid, which is considered
drawn as soon as pencil returns to the starting point.
